Wednesday Devo: “What Keeps You Standing”
Life can feel like a constant test. At school, online, on teams, or even with friends, there is pressure to perform, be liked, and be noticed. It can start to feel like your value depends on how well you do or how people see you. That kind of pressure can shake you, but faith in Jesus gives us something solid to stand on. (Matthew 7:24-25)
When you really understand who Jesus is and what He has done, everything changes. Jesus already proved your worth at the cross. He gave His life for you before you ever tried to impress Him. That means you do not have to prove yourself. You do not have to earn love that has already been given!
Knowing that truth creates security. And security leads to steadiness (Romans 8:38-39). When life feels uncertain, when friendships change, or when expectations feel heavy, you can still stand firm because your identity is not built on performance. It is built on Jesus. The more you trust Him, the more you realize this truth: Jesus is what keeps you standing (John 10:28-29).
Application: What is one burden or weight you are carrying right now that you need to bring to Jesus and trust Him with?
